How do we get from the parking areas to the Canada Day site?
A)
Tractor drawn hay wagons similar to the ones used at the 2001 International Plowing
Match in Navan will be used to shuttle people from the parking areas to the Petrie
Island. However, they will run between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. only There will be
no shuttle service from the the site to the parking areas (a distance of approximately
1.2 kilometres) from one hour before the fireworks onwards due to safety concerns.
Because of the amount of people expected for the fireworks and limited space along
the causeway leading to the island it would be unsafe and impractical to operate
shuttles in and among the pedestrians.
